Gerda will be teaching us how to make a colorwash table runner and recommends coming at 10:00 in order to finish as much as possible. We’ll have our normal “business” meeting at 1:00, but bring a lunch or plan to go out with some of us to bring something back to eat.
The supply list for this project (and I’ve seen it and know it’s gorgeous!) is as follows, and Gerda says the cutting should be done ahead of time:
1/2 yd. focus fabric (floral or other): cut five 2.5” strips
1/6 yd. (6”) each of 4 shades of a colorway (e.g. dark blue, medium blue, medium-light blue, light blue print on a background): cut two 2.5” strips of each fabric
1/3 yd. background: cut two 3.5” strips *and* two 1” strips
1/6 yd. (6”) contrasting color (contrasts with the colorway): cut four 1.25” strips
1/3 yd. binding: cut four 2.5” strips
sewing machine, thread, cutting supplies, etc.
Note: all strips are width of fabric.
Please let Gerda know if you’re going to participate so she’ll know how many patterns to provide.
Welcome!

Christmas Party 2010 at The Boulevard
Since this was my first Christmas party with the Green Valley Quilt Circle I don't have much to compare to, but I can say in all confidence that it was a very good time had by all! Everyone looked so festive. The food was great. And that gift exchange was just too much fun! I'm sorry I didn't take any photos myself, but Robin was kind enough to send a couple:
If any of you have more photos you'd like to contribute, please send to: gvquiltcircle@hotmail.com.
For that matter, please send anything you'd like to share with our group and I'll post asap.
Happy New Year!
Karyn
Where Did 2010 Go?
Sorry to have not posted for so long. The end of the year kind of blew right past me due to my work schedule and being sick for the past month. I promise to post more often and I'm hoping you all will help me with that by sending anything you might want to share with our other circle friends.
In fact, Joanne Williams sent this to share back in early December. My appologies to you Joanne for not posting your lovely quilt sooner.
I couldn't agree with you more about the Disappearing Nine Patch pattern being a fun one to make. What a beautiful quilt. Thanks for sharing Joanne!
Here's to the New Year and my keeping more up-to-date with our blog!

"I just put a new quilt on my bed made with the Disappearing Nine Patch pattern. This is such a fun pattern to make. I can't wait to use it again." ~ Joanne Williams
